Driving sustainable impact: our sustainability, ethical sourcing, community engagement and environmental responsibilities

Workwear Group Uniforms strive for the best in ethical production, sustainability and sourcing, to ensure our workwear isn't just good for people, it's better for the planet too.

As part of the Wesfarmers group, we adhere to strict ethical codes of conduct and resource management protocols. Operating within Wesfarmers Environmental framework ensures that as a minimum, we comply with environmental law, regulatory requirements and environmental license conditions.

Our sustainability strategy is built around four pillars: People, Sourcing, Community and Environment. These pillars are aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which serve as our guiding principles for prioritising and taking action.

Sourcing

Workwear Group is committed to ethical sourcing practices that prioritise human rights, environmental sustainability and responsible business conduct. We recognise that our operations and supply chain can have an impact on people and the planet, and we take our responsibility seriously to ensure that our products and services are sourced and produced responsibly and sustainably. This includes choosing preferred materials in our ranges (those with a perceived improved environmental or social impact compared to the conventional option) and valuing respectful relationships with our suppliers.

Environment

Workwear Group is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. We will continue to take action to address climate change and contribute to the global effort to create a sustainable, low-carbon future for all. We do so through initiatives such as minimising and improving our packaging, reducing waste and energy consumption and implementing energy saving initiatives like solar and LED lighting. We report our annual emissions using the GHG protocol, a widely recognised greenhouse gas reporting standard.

People

Workwear Group recognises the importance of the people that we work with and serve. We strive to create an inclusive work environment that nurtures our talent through learning and development programs. We strongly value diversity and inclusion, such as striving for more women in leadership and the engagement and employment of First Nations People.

Community

Workwear Group is also committed to making a positive impact on the communities where we operate. We support local initiatives that align with our values and vision, such as education, health, environment, and social inclusion. We believe that by working together with our communities, we can create a better future for everyone.

Reporting

Workwear Group implements strong reporting standards for accountability and transparency, demonstrated through regular reporting to Wesfarmers

Workwear Group has robust reporting standards to ensure accountability across the group and our individual brands. We provide regular reporting to Wesfarmers, Wesfarmers Industrial & Safety (our division) and to our customers and stakeholders. Our inaugural annual sustainability report for the 2021/2022 financial year outlines the standards and direction for Workwear Group’s sustainability strategy and associated material issues. It provides insight into progress to date as well as future areas of improvement and consideration.

SDGs

Workwear Group’s material issues are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Within each of our four sustainability pillars, we have identified relevant SDGs we believe we can make a significant contribution to, and impact on.
